Mobile Teaching Unit

Our experience within this sector of education clarifies the importance of building connection before correction. Our trauma-informed delivery combined with our historical success of reintegrating vulnerable students and non-attenders back demonstrates our commitment to creating and executing carefully considered transition plans which take into account past traumas, negative connotations, and the importance of building positive relationships.

Our mobile teaching unit, affectionately named ‘Vanny McVanFace’ amongst staff, has everything needed on board to provide home welfare visits, doorstep tuition, and offer supervised high-ratio school trips. There is a table and chairs which are accessible during transit, as well as access to kitchen facilities and a toilet.

Combined with our remote learning opportunities, we are able to design and deliver school transition plans, doorstep learning, or attendance welfare visits. A sample school transition plan may take place over 12 weeks, and include a variety of contact methods including phone calls, doorstep visits, and mobile teaching unit lessons. The visits would begin with a ‘getting to know you’ and PSHE focus, before turning more academic at the right time for the child.
